University Hospitals Ohio National Guard Study Univeristy of Toledo

Study Overview

A sample of Ohio Guard Members have been selected at random to participate in this important study. This survey would be the first in a series of yearly interviews that will allow the researchers to understand the long-term effects of serving on the lives of Guard Members.
This study may potentially last up to 10 years. If you choose to participate you are not required to participate for the entire duration of the study.
Participation in this survey is completely voluntary and choosing not to participate will have no impact on your status in the Guard, or benefits to which you may be entitled. If you do choose to participate, you have the right to withdraw your participation in the study at any time with no impact on your status in the Guard or benefits to which you may be entitled.
There are two kinds of surveys in the study. All individuals who participate will be interviewed by telephone and a smaller sub-group will also invited to be interviewed in-person.
The Telephone Interview – Personnel from SRBI will contact you at the number provided by the Ohio National Guard a few weeks after you have received the letter describing the research study if you have not declined to be contacted about participating. Each telephone interview will take up to 1 hour and will be scheduled at a time that is convenient for you. Guard members will be compensated $35 for their time. More Details

The In-Person Interview – If you are randomly selected to be part of this sub-group, study staff from the University Hospitals Case Medical Center or University of Toledo will ask you to complete an in-person interview at a location convenient to you. This interview takes about 2 to 3 hours. More Details
