Abt SRBI AAPOR 2011 Conference Presentations

Abt SRBI and Abt staff presented thirteen research papers and posters at the just concluded Annual Conference of the American Association of Public Opinion Research in Phoenix, May 12-15, 2011.

A highlight of the conference was the presentation of the coveted Warren J. Mitofsky Innovators Award to two groups of investigators, including an Abt survey methods group led by Mike Battaglia and Martin Frankel. Their seminal papers explored the application of address-based sampling for mail, telephone and face-to-face surveys. The award citation read:

"The research conducted by these investigators has clearly demonstrated the value of address-based sampling and will have lasting impact on the conduct of surveys for many years to come. Their work has also inspired additional research on coverage errors in area probability samples, a topic that has been too long neglected by the field."

Abt SRBI conference papers and posters focused on the uses of address-based sample versus dual frame landline/cell-samples, optimal weighting techniques for dual frame RDD samples, collection of biological specimens, and factors underlying public reaction to the so-called World Trade Center mosque.

Here is a listing of Abt SRBI papers and posters:
