Hospital-Focused Health Care Studies
A Strategic Baseline Study of the Health Care Market in Washington
D.C. and Suburban Maryland for a Large Multi-Hospital Provider: From
a stratified sample of 1,000 residents, this study measured the image
of specific hospitals in the market, ratings of selected hospitals on
performance characteristics, awareness of advertising, and attitudes related
to hospital marketing. A follow-up survey was conducted a year later to
track attitudes, images and awareness of advertising.
Hospital Usage of and Attitudes Concerning Blood-Related Products and
Services: For the American Red Cross' Blood Services Division, this
study involved an assessment of service performance, product quality and
price, both absolutely and in comparison to competitors. This three-year
tracking study annually sampled approximately 1,500 general and surgical
hospitals nationwide.
The Survey of VA Medical System Users: With in-person interviews,
Abt SRBI surveyed a national sample of 3,000 recent users of VA hospitals
and medical centers, becoming the first patient satisfaction survey for
the largest hospital chain in the country.
