Schulman Elected President of AAPOR

Mark Schulman, Ph.D., has been elected Vice President/President-elect of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR). Schulman is president and a founder of Schulman, Ronca & Bucuvalas, Inc.

Founded in 1947, AAPOR is the largest association of academic, commercial and government public opinion, public policy and market researchers in the U.S. The organization also sponsors Public Opinion Quarterly, a leading research journal.

Schulman will serve as Vice-President/President-elect until May 2002, when he becomes President. He has served AAPOR in a variety of offices including Conference Chair (2000) and Secretary Treasurer (1998-1999). He is a past President of the New York Chapter of AAPOR. He also serves on the Board of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations.

Prior to the founding of SRBI in 1981, he was a Senior Vice President at Louis Harris and Associates. He was also a Senior Project Director at the Eagleton Institute Poll, Rutgers University. He frequently lectures and teaches research methodology.

Schulman is also a Trustee (Emeritus) at Washington College, Chestertown, MD, and a member of the Advisory Board of the New School University Jazz and Contemporary Music program. His Ph.D. was awarded by Rutgers University.
